15 – Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Thunderous announcement of the January 2017 conference, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 finished the first year of the Switch. Between its gigantic world, its deep gameplay and its exceptional story, this second opus of the saga charmed players although some criticized it for being too spirited. shonen compared to its predecessor. Nevertheless, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was able to develop its own identity and leave a strong enough memory in the hearts of players to reach this top! We obviously welcome a once again formidable soundtrack with themes that will still be remembered.

14 – Pokémon Legends Arceus

The Pokémon series has had many episodes on Nintendo Switch : Let’s Go, Sword and Shield or Scarlet and Purple. However, it is not a surprise to see the opus “Legends” integrate this top 15 of the best games on the console. Beyond the obvious performance problems, the title offers real originality for the series, the first passage towards open areas has its effect, but it is especially with its more dynamic gameplay and the ability to capture monsters without any transition makes the game stand out. 13 – Kirby and the Forgotten World

The little pink ball has always been popular, but for several years we felt that there was still a big step to take for the series of HAL : that of the transition to 3D. But that was before the release of Kirby and the Forgotten Worldwhich showed everyone that the formula was capable of renewing itself and being more attractive than ever. Kirby, which evolves here in levels “ Mario style », is certainly not as precise as the plumber in his movements, but that is not very serious, because the series featuring him is more action/platform oriented.

And the combat system is well worked here, with the traditional abilities stolen from enemies, but also real work on the perfect dodge, which it will be important to master to overcome the game, especially if you venture into the formidable postgame and its final boss who will give you a hard time. With the village of Waddle-Dee to rebuild, it’s hard to resist the urge to aim for 100% of this great adventure which puts you in a good mood, supported by a very cute soundtrack!

12 – Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury

We can say that by playing it afterwards Odyssey, like most of the players did, Super Mario 3D World is a step backwards, with a return to more classic levels. But is this necessarily a bad thing? No, because in exchange for our freedom, Nintendo invites us to experiment with new ideas, all the time. The game’s levels always offer us something new, surprising, more than any other game Mario before him. And so many of these levels border on perfection that we can only admire the ingenuity of the development team.

But, if you really wanted to rediscover the experience ofOdysseythe manufacturer also thought of you, since this porting Switch of 3D World does not just improve the speed and resolution of the game: no, a whole new adventure is available to you with Bowser’s Fury, and this offers for the very first time a real open world to the plumber: you are free to go from island to island and take care of the different challenges in the order you prefer. This addition is not as long as a complete game (8h for 100%)but it constitutes a good overview of the possible future of Mario in the form of a delicious aperitif.

10 – The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening

Link’s Awakeningit is above all the development team of A Link to the Past which says “ we will try to do better, but on this less powerful console “. And the worst part is that they succeeded. THE Zelda of the Game Boy is more precise in its controls, more pleasant and clever in its design, and also less frustrating. All while offering what undoubtedly remains to this day the best story offered by a title of this license, the most bizarre and the most moving with this ending which marked a generation of players. What a pleasure, then, to see him return to Nintendo Switch, enhanced by a strong artistic direction which perfectly suits what is being told to us

And how can we not also talk about the exceptional work on the music of Ryo Nagamatsu, who chose to limit the number of musicians to keep the intimate side of the game, while incorporating sounds taken from the version into the pieces Game Boy of the game. So yes, we can talk about the framerate drops that we see in some areas of the game: it’s regrettable, but that doesn’t take away from the almost faultless performance of this remake of a game that deserved well.
