Test, review and presentation of the small energy station

Oukitel offers a small battery with a capacity of 505Wh, easily transportable, which will be perfect for your daytime camping outings. With a power of 500W, it allows you to power the majority of your devices.

Also, the Oukitel brand is very popular for its low prices. Which means that this battery is on sale for just over 300 euros. It is therefore less expensive than many of its competitors. Let’s see in this test what it’s really worth!

Oukitel P501 battery design

The Oukitel P501 battery has a unique design that sets it apart from competing batteries. It must be admitted that its design is rather successful. It is very compact and has a small faux leather strap attached to the top for easy transport. Color wise, there is a mix of orange and dark gray.

The edges of the battery are rounded, which gives it a friendlier appearance than other competing stations which are relatively austere. Positive point, a small LED lamp is integrated into the battery. With a power of 4W, it is bright enough to illuminate small areas.

Oukitel P501 – what use?

The Oukitel P501 battery has a big strong point: it is easily transportable. You can go hiking with it all day (you still have to carry its weight of almost 6 kg). Also, its capacity and power (respectively 505Wh and 500W) will allow it to recharge the vast majority of electronic devices without worry.

It is therefore perfect for accompanying drone outings in a remote location accessible only on foot, for example. You will be able to recharge your drone several times and increase your shooting time. It will also be valuable during your outdoor outings where you need to move away from the car.

On the other hand, its capacity and power will not be sufficient to power electricity-intensive devices (kettle, coffee machine, toaster). If you can’t do without this comfort during your camping trips, you will have to look for another model from the brand.

Characteristics of the Oukitel P501 battery

Here are the main characteristics of the Oukitel P501 battery

Ability505 Wh
Battery TypeLithium battery
Maximum power delivered500W (1000W surge)
Weight5.6 kg
Dimensions27 x 17 x 31cm
AC charging time (Home)5.5 hours

What is the main strong point?

The Oukitel P501 battery has 2 major strengths. The first is the fact that it is easily transportable thanks to its reduced weight and a small faux leather handle on the top. That said, the real argument in favor of the P501 is its price!

It is on sale for around 300 euros, which places it below the competition (for more or less equivalent capacities and powers). Of course, it does not integrate the latest technologies, but it will be perfect for people with occasional needs for portable energy.

What are the inputs and outputs of the Oukitel P501?

Although small, the Oukitel P501 battery still has many inputs and outputs. However, it is only equipped with one AC outlet. A 2nd AC outlet would have been nice. 9 outputs in total are present on the Oukitel P501:

  • 1 AC Output: 200-240V 50/60Hz 500W
  • 1 USB Output: (Type A) 5-12V DC, 18W
  • 4 USB outputs (Type A) 5V DC, 2.4A 12W
  • 1 USB Output: (Type C) 5-15V DC, 3A 20V DC, 5A
  • 1 DC output: 12VDC, 6A DC5521 socket
  • 1 DC Output: 12V 10A Cigarette Lighter Socket

3 ways to recharge your battery:

  • Car charging: 12V-30V/5A
  • Solar charging: 12V-30V/5A
  • AC input: 12-30V/5A (maximum charging power 150W, standard adapter 24V/5A)

It therefore takes a little over 3 hours to fully recharge the battery from the mains. Note that it is possible to recharge your station using solar panels. Considering the battery capacity, a 100W solar panel will be sufficient.

Battery usage

As with all batteries, use is very easy. Simply plug in your device and turn the output on/off by clicking the activation buttons. The LCD screen is simple, but it displays the main information:

  • Battery percentage remaining
  • Input power
  • Output power
  • Enabled inputs and outputs

We only regret that the screen does not display the remaining usage time of the battery, depending on the remaining capacity and the output power delivered.
