November 29, 2023

The Police Prefecture presented, on November 29, the perimeters around the Olympic and Paralympic sites having an impact on road traffic during the 2024 Games. A complete press kit bringing together the perimeters around the sites (impacts on road traffic, preservation of pedestrian and cyclist flows), road traffic maps and the major stages to come was carried out by the Police Prefecture.

The 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be held mainly in Ile-de-France from July 26 to August 11 then from August 28 to September 8, 2024.

The safety of people and property is one of the main challenges of this organization. The Police Prefecture has therefore established two types of perimeters:

  • “Organizer”: safety of spectators with tickets and people accredited by Paris 2024 during the competition;
  • “State”: safety of residents and spectators.

Furthermore, good management of flows and traffic while preserving social, economic and cultural activities as much as possible are also among the priorities.

The common objective is to limit as much as possible the impacts generated by the measures put in place, while informing local residents and stakeholders concerned upstream and transparently to enable them to organize themselves.
