Devolver Direct 2024: Two New Games, Plethora of Release Dates, and Even More Strangeness for Volvy’s Birthday!


This year’s Devolver Direct was marked by the announcement of new games, like Owner(s) from the independent studio Heart Machine (Hyper Light Drifter) And Tenjutsu from the solo developer Deepnight Games, the designer of Dead Cells Sébastien Benard. But the event was also an opportunity for your favorite publisher’s favorite publisher to reveal release dates for Anger Football (Free Lives) and The Crush House (Nerial), as well as new DLC for Cult of the Lamb (Massive Monster) and The Talos Principle 2 (Croteam). Owner(s) is a rhythmic side-scrolling action game whose combat is inspired by platform fighters. Narrated by eminently dangerous characters, its story propels you into a complex interconnected world where exploration is king.

Play as Luca, the host, and Rehm, his uncooperative counterpart, as they explore a quarantined city, devastated and flooded by an interdimensional catastrophe. Their only way to survive is to learn to coexist.

  • Tenjutsu – Announced on PC & Consoles

Tenjutsu puts you in the shoes of a renegade yakuza determined to stand up to her former partners in crime. His goal ? Free the town of Secret Garden City from their grip.

Four powerful crime syndicates control the city with an iron fist. To defeat them, you will have to master the brutal combat system but also develop your possibilities in terms of weapons, improvements and martial arts techniques: only an immense surge of perfectly controlled violence will free the city from the actions of this treacherous spawn.

  • Cult of the Lamb: Unholy Alliance – August 12, 2024 – PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series S|X and Switch

The new free Unholy Alliance update for the esoteric hit Cult of the Lamb introduces a brand new playable character: the Goat! Summoned by blood and born in corruption, this strange traveling companion can join the Lamb in local co-op. It will therefore be possible to roam the dungeons, beat the heretics and build your cult together from August 12!

The entire campaign Cult of the Lamb will be playable in local co-op. Enjoy special 2-player versions of existing mini-games, like Fishing and Knucklebones, and choose from a selection of weapons, tarot cards, curses, and corrupted relics as your cooperative crusades progress.
