With “Paris celebrates the Games”, find all the free festivities organized in Paris, outside the competition sites, during the Olympic and Paralympic Games. From June 1st, the festival takes place everywhere in the capital, from emblematic and historic places to the heart of the neighborhoods.
All over Paris, sites with an Olympic look
Like the Hôtel de Ville (Paris Centre), which has been dressed in the colours of the Paris 2024 Games since November 2023, the look of the Games will adorn the competition sites and the festivities:
the main Parisian arteries, like the Champs-Élysées, rue de la Chapelle and the high quays of the banks of the Seine, will gradually be decorated to accompany the highlights of the international sporting event: torch relay, road races, etc. ;
- streets to schools : from this April, schoolchildren will be able to enjoy fun facilities in Olympic colours (athletics tracks, hopscotch, etc.);
the street signs of Paris Olympique 1924-2024 : from June 23, Paris will install plaques in the colors of the Games on all the emblematic sites of the 1924 Games and those of 2024, thus constituting a historic journey to discover Olympic Paris and a symbolic heritage of the post-Games.
From June 22 to July 13, take part in the District Olympics!
These Olympics will test the competitive spirit of participants who will compete, with family or friends, in one of these seven Olympic and Paralympic disciplines:
laser run;
3×3 basketball;
boccia;
Table tennis ;
60 meter run;
breaking;
50 meters freestyle.
The events will take place in around thirty sports centers and swimming pools. They will allow the champions of each discipline and category to be selected by district.
A grand final on July 13
The winners of the grand final organized on July 13 – at the Charléty stadium (13e) for land disciplines and at the Georges-Hermant swimming pool (19e) for the 50 meter freestyle – will be crowned “Paris champions” and will leave with places for the Games!
From July 6, Paris Plages celebrates the Games
This year, the event takes on a new dimension by integrating the Saint-Martin canal (10e)which becomes “the Parisian Croisette” and thus creates a connection between the two historic sites:
the Villette basin (19e)dedicated to youth and families;
the banks of the Seine right bank (Paris Center)more focused on cultural activities.
Open from July 6 to 1er September, the Saint-Martin canal will offer a stroll along its two banks. In addition to the beaches and terraces, various sporting and cultural activities will be offered free of charge, such as tai chi and dance classes, exhibitions, a swimming area, etc.
On July 14, the Olympic flame arrives in Paris
July 14th
For its arrival in the capital, the Olympic flame will wander from Paris Center to 10e arrondissement, with a finale on the Terrace des Jeux at the Hôtel de Ville (Paris Center). Throughout the day, there will be highlights and activities including, among others:
a choreography by the acrobat Yoann Bourgeois on the Place du Panthéon (5e) ;
- the Paris Pop Party hosted by the Radio Cargo DJ set on the Place du Colonel-Fabien (10e/19e) ;
the offbeat covers of great French opera arias by the lyrical quartet DIVA at the Petit Palais (8e) ;
the organization of a colorful Drag Bingo in the Marais (Paris Center);
The Town Hall will be open all night so that Parisians and visitors can admire the flame.
Without forgetting the traditional fireworks and the Major concert by the Radio France Orchestra at the Champ-de-Mars (7e) on the occasion of the national holiday.
July 15th
The flame will wander from the 11the at 20e district, with an arrival on the Place de la République, all in a festive and lively atmosphere:
- a performance by the troupe of choreographer Sadeck Berrabah is scheduled at Sacré-Cœur (18e) ;
- a tavern hosted by the Les Balochiens orchestra will be held on Place Léon-Blum (11e).
July 26
From July 14 to September 8, around twenty places come alive for the Games
Around twenty places will host these festivities. Each district will have its own atmosphere and its own programming, and the events will be accessible to all.
Furthermore, each district town hall called on its associative network with the launch of a call for projects. The selected sports clubs and associations will deploy their proposals throughout the summer on the festivities site in their district.

Highlights of the Games Terrace at City Hall
the arrival of the Olympic flame the evening of July 14;
the start of the legendary Olympic marathon elite men on August 10 (8 a.m.) and elite women on August 11 (8 a.m.) with a unique route accessible to spectators free of charge;
the ball for the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Paris August 24;
the arrival of the Paralympic flames on August 28.
Six festive totemic sites that carry values
The so-called totemic sites carry values dear to Paris: youth, solidarity, the climate issue with the refreshed city, the social solidarity economy and gender equality.
They will open their doors to Parisians and visitors throughout the duration of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. They will also offer various activities, particularly sporting and cultural.
The Central Pride House, 6th totem site
The Pride House will also meet visitors and residents of the capital with the establishment of pop-ups in the streets of Paris from June 15 to September 8. On the program: quizzes, games, participatory and inclusive sports activities on the themes of well-being sport, health sport, gender-neutral inclusive sport, prevention, etc.
Shows offered by Parisian cultural actors
Each festivities site will offer performances imagined by an emblematic Parisian cultural actor:
the Théâtre de la Ville-Sarah Bernhardt (Paris Centre);
the Théâtre du Châtelet (Paris Center);
theater 14 (14e) ;
Le Mouffetard – Puppet Arts Theater (5e) ;
the Théâtre de Verdure (16e) ;
The BEA-BA collective;
the Carreau du Temple (Paris Center).
Live concerts will also be offered at Point Éphémère (10e), at BL Music (15e) and at La Loge (11e), while street arts performances will be presented by collectives (Le Temps des Rues, 2r2c, Art’R).
Outdoor cinema
Large screens installed on certain festivities sites will also make it possible to organize evenings of open-air cinema between August 12 and 27.

Nuit Blanche, Olympic Forms festival, 100% Paris 2024 Games programming in libraries, sports classes in cultural establishments and new artistic education and artist residency programs: all Parisian cultural actors have seized the Games for offer joyful, festive and mostly free programming.

Murals, sculptures, photographs or mosaics will take place in the swimming pools, stadiums and gymnasiums of the City of Paris and will thus constitute a legacy of the Games.
The investment of municipal agents
the Cleanliness and Water Department will guarantee the cleanliness of the festivities sites;
the School Affairs department will ensure the reception of leisure centers;
the Public Health Department will offer “sport-health” workshops to raise awareness of the benefits of practicing sports, as well as preventive workshops on risky behavior;
the Youth and Sports department will organize its various schemes aimed at deploying sport throughout the City (Paris Sport Dimanche and Paris Sport Vacances) and will offer its traditional summer swimming in five sports facilities;
the Cultural Affairs department will deploy its libraries outside the walls, reading activities, blind tests, workshops in shaded spaces;
the Families and Early Childhood department will mobilize its associative partners with two Ludomouv’;
the Green Spaces department will raise awareness among the general public about urban ecology workshops and will participate in setting up Festival Kiosks in parks and gardens;
the Cleanliness and Water department will guarantee the cleanliness of the festivities sites throughout the Games;
the municipal police and prevention department will help guarantee security at the festivities sites throughout the Games.
