Top 5 Android and iOS apps of the week

This top 5 is not like our selections of free applications that we offer you twice a week. Here, we install the applications on our own smartphones and test them. We check if there are not too many in-app purchases, ads and if the applications respect your personal data more or less.

We try to select useful applications, whether for productivity, personalization of your interface or digital well-being. And, our top 5 always includes at least one mobile game. Applications can be free or paid, with or without a subscription. But, it will always be indicated!

We take issues related to in-app purchases and advertisements seriously. This is why we mention them in the descriptions of the affected applications.

Solo Leveling: Arise (Android and iOS)

Solo Leveling: Arise is adapted from a Chinese comic book and webtoon, making it a story-rich game whose story, while familiar to similar genres, has enough differences to keep you hooked . Basically, you play as Sung Jinwoo, a hunter in a world of transdimensional beings.

You unleash your latent powers when you are under pressure. Since it is a gacha title, the more money you invest in the game, the more powerful your character becomes. I recommend watching the anime before playing to get a better idea. The animation is simply extraordinary, making you wonder if you are playing an anime or watching a game.

As is the case with many paid titles, there are many listings for accounts for sale online, but we strongly advise against doing so, particularly due to the risk of scams. Either way, learn to enjoy the game and all its nuances from the start, it’s much more satisfying that way.

Aurelian Audio Podcast Player (Android)

Do you listen to audio better than images? If so, you must be a big fan of podcasts. Aurelian is an audio podcast player that features a minimalist and elegant design to enhance your podcast experience. You’ll be able to stream or download the podcasts of your choice from virtually any public RSS feed while taking advantage of its library management and intelligent syncing features.

Of course, audio playback is not the only feature, since video playback is also part of the offer. If your podcast library is already stored in an OPML file or RSS feed, simply import it and voila!

Even premium streams and password-protected podcasts from services like Wondery, Libsyn, Audacy, Slate Plus, PodcastOne, Earwolf, Radiotopia and others are supported, and if you tend to spend most of your time on the road, the inclusion of Android Auto support is very welcome. For those who are always at home, the compatibility with Chromecast is even more interesting.

Bear Room (Android and iOS)

Do you have a safe space in your life, whether physical, mental, spiritual or emotional? Bear Room offers a respite to humans tired from the difficulties of life in the digital space which features a teddy bear.

This isn’t a big surprise, as soft, cuddly toys are always a good place to start when it comes to relieving stress. It is strongly recommended to use this app with the sound turned on, or to wear a pair of headphones for maximum effect.

For example, there are many options available to help you reduce stress, including breathing exercises. The different activities are accessible via the various comfort objects, which you can also add such as mirrors, letters and frames.

I like the peaceful atmosphere and the music, but after a while there is a lack of variety. Perhaps the developer could include more customizable options, like taking a photo of your favorite object and using it as a comfort object in the room. free!

Laftel (Android and iOS)

Laftel is a FAST (free ad-supported streaming TV) platform focused on anime, which is reminiscent of PlutoTV and many other recent services.

Although the library is not the largest or most complete, need I remind you that it is free? It has a pretty decent collection, to begin with, and once you’re done with it, it might be time to consider other platforms if you want to watch the latest anime.

Most importantly, the anime streamed here are all legal and you will be able to watch them in high definition. No longer will you have to worry about bad encoding or having the authorities knocking on your door just because you’re watching an illegal copy of your favorite Japanese cartoon.

Of course, you’ll have to prepare to be greeted by a 30 sec commercial before watching each episode, but that shouldn’t be a problem considering it’s a free app.
