Where to stay during the Paris Olympic Games?

A little over two months. That’s how much time remains before the launch of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Place de l’Hôtel de Ville, in the Marais district and in the heart of the capital, the atmosphere is already palpable. It must be said that, for several weeks already, the facade of the Paris town hall has been dressed for the Olympics; we can read, in particular and in large letters, “Paris 2024”.

In video, the streets of this Belgian city are ranked among the most beautiful in the world:

With the capital expecting around 13 million visitors, where to stay during the period? Which neighborhoods should you choose so as not to miss any of the events and enjoy the excitement? If hotel room rates remain high (around €600 for a night during the Games period), some establishments have recently lowered their rates – some hoteliers are still not fully booked, three months before the Olympics. We have selected a few addresses for you, all strategically placed according to the different Games sites, comfortable and pleasant.

Rayz Eiffel for his family spirit

The seventh arrondissement is undoubtedly the most chic in the capital. With its beautiful avenues, its immediate proximity to the Eiffel Tower, its chic and discreet inhabitants, it is the dream district to soak up the beauty of Paris. Better yet: it will be transformed into a real theater of the Games. At the Champ de Mars Arena (less than ten minutes on foot) for judo and wrestling events, at the Eiffel Tower stadium for beach volleyball (a few minutes on foot), at the Grand Palais for fencing and taekwondo (not far from Rayz), at the level of the Alexandre III bridge and the Invalides…

The hotel we recommend staying at? Le Rayz, a three-star establishment with a family spirit and opened in 2019. Located on the beautiful avenue Bosquet, this hotel has twenty-five rooms (approximately 19 square meters) whose neat and cozy style will charm you: paper floral wallpaper, touches of velvet, subway tiles in the bathrooms, breakfast served in the room… The best part of this Parisian cocoon? The sixth floor terrace overlooking the nearby Eiffel Tower.

From 500 at night during the Olympics.

The address? 77, Avenue Bosquet, Paris VIIᵉ. Metro Military School. rayzeiffel.com

Hotel 1K Paris for its Latin American touch

With its warm colors, plants everywhere, Peruvian cuisine and hidden bars (Mezcaleria and Malicia), 1K Paris is an ode to Latin America. Located in the trendy Haut Marais district, the hotel enjoys an ideal location: the La Concorde urban park (place de la Concorde), where you will see the pros of BMX freestyle, basketball or skateboarding, is at 10 minutes by metro from the hotel. The Town Hall (athletics events) is a 20-minute walk away.

What do we like? The 1K cultivates an atmosphere that is both chic and festive — perfect for summer! Pretty blue carpet, almond green or orange accents, walk-in showers, bathtubs placed on the floor, superb bedding… A setting in a lively area. Owl !

From 270 for a double room during the Olympic period.

Botanist Hotel for its natural charm

Notice to tennis (and boxing) fans: the Botaniste is very close to Roland-Garros, in the (beautiful) Auteuil-Molitor district. Five minutes by car or twenty minutes on foot are enough to reach the legendary stadium. Designed as a family home, this boutique hotel celebrates nature and greenery. Bouquets of dried flowers, floral wallpaper and herbariums decorate the rooms and adorn the walls of this 4-star hotel. Like an extension of the hotel’s small gardens, natural settings in the city. On the buffet breakfast menu? Pastries, jams from small producers in the Alps, coffees from the Parisian roaster Lomi… In short, a call to the pleasures of summer!

From €470 per night for a double room during the Olympics period.

Hotel Ibis Style Paris Bercy for its practicality and street style

With more than 350 rooms, the Ibis Styles Paris Bercy hotel (Accor group) can boast of a significant reception capacity. It has multiple advantages: it is located a stone’s throw from Paris Bercy, Accor Hotels Arena, the large sports center where basketball, trampolining, artistic gymnastics events will take place, etc. It offers affordable prices for the period. What makes it original is its friendly atmosphere, with refined, warm rooms decorated with works in a street art spirit – there are also street art works everywhere in the hotel. Valid !

Hotel Kraft for its elegance and arty side

Located at Porte de Versailles in the 15th century, this young 4-star boutique hotel cultivates a taste for art and craftsmanship in a modern spirit. Forty-five rooms are displayed in a refined and cozy style. Sketches, drawings, cushions with colorful prints, slightly retro bathrooms… Everything is thought out with taste and an eye for detail. We are looking forward to trying La Bonne Table, the hotel restaurant.

On the menu ? Simple and comforting French cuisine (eggs mayo, cheese boards, gourmet brunch, salmon sandwich…). Enough to leave full of energy to go, in particular, to the Arena Paris Sud, a few minutes walk from the hotel. In the program ? Weightlifting, handball, table tennis and volleyball events.

From €300 per night for a double room during the Olympics period.

Hotel Les Deux Gares for its retro touch

The Gare du Nord district is, at first glance, not the most charming. And yet… That’s without the Les Deux Gares hotel located, as its name suggests, between Gare du Nord and Gare de l’Est. Decorated by Luke Edward Hall, a thirty-year-old designer among the most gifted of his generation, the rooms of this 4-star hotel are a concentration of old-fashioned style and colors: mustard yellow, raspberry red, grass green, big stripes, old pink bathrooms… . which could actually come straight out of a Wes Anderson film.

On the ground floor, the Les Deux Gares café (also decorated by Luke Edward Hall) is the perfect place for lunch (French cuisine) or to taste a natural wine. Location-wise, the hotel is ideal for getting to the north of Paris; to encourage rugby sevens players and athletics pros at the Stade de France (an RER B station from the Gare du Nord stop), but also on the Chapelle side (badminton and rhythmic gymnastics, 15 minutes by bus and 30 minutes on foot).

From €600 per night for a double room during the Olympics period.
