5 Android and iOS applications to install on your smartphone without hesitation

This top 5 is not like our selections of free applications that we offer you twice a week. Here, we install the applications on our own smartphones and test them. We check if there are not too many in-app purchases, ads and if the applications respect your personal data more or less.

We try to select useful applications, whether for productivity, personalization of your interface or digital well-being. And, our top 5 always includes at least one mobile game. Applications can be free or paid, with or without a subscription. But, it will always be indicated!

We take issues related to in-app purchases and advertisements seriously. This is why we mention them in the descriptions of the affected applications.

Ready Set Golf (Android and iOS)

Ready Set Golf is a nice little multiplayer golf game that lets you play with friends elsewhere without having to pay green fees or run the risk of getting a sunburn. You’ll be able to play with up to eight players simultaneously, making it a unique game to try, especially on boring weekends when there’s nothing else to do.

It would have been nice to see a global leaderboard in action for those with a competitive spirit, but otherwise the pretty graphics and unique courses will leave you wanting more. No two playthroughs are the same and I’m sure you’ll spend hours playing this game.

However, it would be good to add other courses in the future. During the day, waiting times must be respected, which can reduce adrenaline. There are sometimes network delays, but it’s not a big deal.

Deliciously Ella: Feel Better (Android and iOS)

The modern lifestyle can be very hectic and stressful. You may be fit, but are you healthy? I found Deliciously Ella to be a unique app because it offers something a little different than typical recipe apps.

It offers you delicious and nutritious recipes to try, recipes that can be prepared in a short time while still being tasty and healthy. In fact, the app not only offers delicious plant-based recipes, it also offers wellness and exercise inspiration.

This app offers four different categories: Recipes, Exercise, Mindfulness and Sleep. Recipes provide a breakdown of ingredients, cooking time, method, and even a place where you can write down information.

If you choose Sleep, you will be able to choose from different soundtracks which we hope will send you to Snoozeland in the shortest possible time. Want to sweat? The Exercise tab offers you yoga sessions, short energizing sessions, de-stress options and many more.

Whispp (Android and iOS)

Whispp is a game-changing app for people with speech difficulties. This app is unique in that it helps recreate your voice, although this requires you to provide samples. It works in a rather interesting way, if I may say so. First, I recorded my voice before being given the choice between enhancing and amplifying it or letting the app select a new preset voice.

I wasn’t very impressed with the amplification and enhancement, as all it did was increase the volume and reduce background noise, while still producing an audio clip that can be shared without worry about audio quality.

For those who want to restore their voice, an old voice recording of approximately 5 minutes is required, as well as a 20-second clip of your voice in its current state. Whispers are also acceptable, as long as they last at least 20 seconds. Once you’ve finished recording, email it to Whispp, who will then provide you with a download link.

There’s also a calling feature in the app that lets you stay in touch with other people using your enhanced voice.

Hermit (Android)

Hermit is an application that turns web pages into standalone applications. It’s a browser that allows individual web pages to run in its own container, with an ad blocker to boot.

Creating lightweight apps is a breeze, and there’s even a predefined list of apps, an easy system for creating lightweight apps, and a predefined list of apps you can select from, including Google, Reddit, Amazon, Google Maps, CNN, TikTok, Twitch, and many more.

Each application you create will appear as an icon on the home screen of your smartphone, allowing you to access the web page in question with a single touch without having to launch your browser.

While the base experience is free, you’ll need to shell out some money to unlock the rest of the app’s features. Some of these features include multiple profiles (ideal for a family device), user scripts, tracking protection, content blocking, backup option and the ability to print.

Downdetector (Android and iOS)

No, it’s not the end of the world if your favorite online service is unavailable. After all, humanity has survived far worse situations than no internet connection. However, there are times when you are left scratching your head wondering if it is the internet service provider that has failed or if it is the online service/web page itself that is down.

Downdetector gets the job done, quickly and simply. Of course, you don’t need to download this app and you can use their website directly if you want, but there is something fun about launching an app and seeing it in action.

Downdetector offers real-time monitoring of the status and uptime of many services, in over 45 different countries. You can even make a list of your favorite services so that they stay at the top of your list every time you launch the app. In the event of a service outage, do not hesitate to file a report and view reports from other users.

Downdetector will even display support details for each service, from phone number to online contact, so you can contact them as soon as possible. Social media may be the quickest method, but there’s nothing like good old traditional email when it comes to more serious matters like downtime.
